Theme;
Lining Up to the Front: A Tribute to the Frontliners

Main Task:
You are going to compose a poem dedicated to frontliners. Practice delivering this poem as a spoken poetry. Let us then put you in an imagined spotlight where you are chosen to represent the school to deliver a poignant tribute to all the frontliners, your chosen audience, that will inspire them to continue serving us amid the uncertainties and threats of Covid-19. 

The following must be noted before you set out with this task:
  1. Only ONE POEM should be composed for all your subjects, following the mechanics provided by your respective teachers.
  2. This will be video- recorded while you deliver (because you have to imagine to be delivering this in front of an audience). The video should at least last for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. The type of frontliners to whom you will dedicate your poem will change according to your strand: 
STEM: medical practitioners and all allied health professions, and engineers
ABM: business allied professions
HUMSS: teachers, policemen, lawyers and all social sciences allied professions
TVL: as per specialization


Task for Oral Communication:
1. Memorize or read your content after you have composed it as instructed by your:

A: For HUMSS, ABM and STEM:
a.1: teachers in 21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the World, Introduction to World Religion and Beliefs System, and Disciplines and Ideas in the Social Sciences, and Komunikasyon at Pananaliksik.

B. For TVL
b.1: Teacher in KOMUNIKASYON AT PANANALIKSIK SA KULTURA AT WIKANG FILIPINO

2. Do mirror practice when delivering your content. You may also ask a friend to give you immediate feedback after watching you practice.

3. When you think you are already ready to record your content delivery, dress appropriately according to what your content asks/ context of your poem.

4. When you record, please observe the following:
  • Articulation
  • Modulation
  • Stage Presence
  • Facial Expression, Gestures and Movements
  • Rapport with the audience

5. Refer to the rubrics given below on how you will be given points for your Oral Communication Subject so that you will be guided accordingly.

In light of the DATA PRIVACY ACT, students must not upload the video in any public platform to avoid violation of privacy and instances of cyber bullying.

ALTERNATIVE TASK for ORAL COMM

In case you do not have the gadget or smart phones (internet- ready phones), to video- record yourself while delivering your spoken poetry, you may do the following alternatives >
  • Alternative 2. Borrow your sibling’s or friend’s phone, record yourself, and save your file in a flash drive/CD format to be submitted during distribution/ retrieval time for your modules (this will not require internet data).
  • Alternative 3. Personally, deliver your spoken poetry during the retrieval/distribution of your modules (for subject Oral Communication in Context and other subjects who may request). Applicable for extreme case only where the learner’s situation does not conform to option no. 2. Subject teachers may sit together, following strictly the health protocols for a one-time delivery of the learner.
