QUARTER 2/1ST SEMESTER, WEEK 1

MELC: Explore the principles of interactivity and rich context of Web 2.0 and the participation of the user in the online experience, share anecdotes of how he/she has used ICTs to be part of a social movement, change, or cause to illustrate aspects of digital citizenship, and identify a local cause or issue for social change that can be addressed or tackled using an ICT Project for Social Change.

TASKS 1-12

Task 1: YOU CAN DO THIS


Instructions/Directions: TRUE OR FALSE. Write TRUE if the statement is correct, and FALSE if it is incorrect.

1. Multimedia means that the user or audience has control over the program, website or presentation.

2. Online Content are the contents that can be found in your website. It can be in form of text, images and videos, but can also include music and other sounds.

3. Usability is quite simply a measure of how simple it is for a user to learn the site

4. Visual design plays a critical role in the user experience and once again, the users will know what they respond to and what they don’t respond to.

5. An online test is an online survey forms and test that automatically display the results when finished.

6. Courseware are online courses that simulate the classroom online

7. Podcast is an episodic series of video streamed online.

8. Change.org gives access to more people by allowing the online community to affix their digital signatures on a petition.

9. Yolanda Typhoon gave birth to the People Finder database powered by Google.

10. Support is an element of a concept paper that includes information on how the group can be contacted.

Task 2: ENUMERATION


Instructions/Directions: Enumerate the following:

Enumerate five websites and the multimedia contents that you can find on each website. Choose your top two websites, enumerate and explain briefly the elements used in each website.

Task 3: CHALLENGE YOURSELF

Inserting YouTube Videos on Your Blog (Use the blog you created from your previous activity)

1. Search a video on YouTube.com
2. Go to the bottom of the video and click the Share button.
3. Click on Embed.
4. Copy the code.
5. Paste your code in your blog.

Task 4: CHALLENGE YOURSELF

Sign Up / In an Online Petition
1. Visit Change.org.
2. Click on Log in on the upper right hand of the page.
3. Click Sign up or log in with Facebook.
4. You can then start your own petition, but for now, click on any petition you want under trending petitions.
5. Read the petition description to see if this petition matters to you. If it is, sign the petition by filling up the information on the right side of the screen.
6. Share the petition on Facebook to promote it.

Instructions/Directions: Enumerate How ICT tools and platforms have change the way people communicate, and social change has been brought about by the use of ICT’s?

Task 10: LEVEL UP

Instructions/Directions: Write a paragraph discussing the questions give.

“ Fake news is a type of yellow journalism or propaganda that consists of deliberate misinformation or hoaxes spread via traditional print and broadcast news media or online social media.”

Write on current events or issue in the Philippines on which have been the center of controversy and may have been tagged as “Fake News”. Discuss why this issues have been created to create false information and what types of Social Media and Digital platform were used.

Task 11: LEVEL UP

Instructions/Directions: Construct a campaign tagline/advocacy as ICT as a tool for Social Change and explain briefly the slogan.

Task 12: LEVEL UP

Instructions/Directions: Create a concept paper and write the five elements of a concept paper. Choose one topic.
